At
Officine Rigamonti, its own test laboratory checks
and tests its products. In this lab, tests on new-designed
products are carried out to improve their features in
terms of strength and fluid-mechanical performance.The
different production processes are monitored to check,
whether the required standards are complied with. The
equipment available to carry out these tests are designed
and constructed to test products according to the specific
regulations of each type of item. The measuring instruments
are periodically checked and calibrated with SIT-certified
comparative instruments.Our laboratory is equipped with
test benches, properly designed according to the tests
valves and fittings shall be subjected to.

Static tests under pressure and static vacuum tests
Their aim is to check the resistance to pressure,
taking as a reference the PN (nominal pressure) of valves
or fittings.Tests at low pressures from 5 mBar.Tests at
other pressures up to 70 Bar.Vacuum tests are conducted
on fittings for PE pipes to control the tightness from
outside. |

Tests of charge loss and flow
The dimensions of the bench used for this kind of tests
are such to allow recording the data of every item we
produce: pressure reducing valves, filters, manifolds,
safety valves, etc. |

Temperature and pressure tests
The equipment for pressure/temperature tests simulate
the stresses of valves, mainly of those for heating systems,
when functioning.Tests can be static, dynamic, with opening/closing
operation cycles, with cold/warm temperature cycles.With
these machines we can carry out tests at temperatures
up to 130°C and at pressures of the service fluid
up to 25 Bar. |

Wear and ageing tests
The machines used for wear and ageing tests can
reproduce in laboratory those factors, which wear and
age the materials. The sample valves undergo the tests
required by the regulations, which enable us to forecast
in a relatively short time the conditions of valves
after years. The main tests carried out in our lab are:Ageing
of plastic material by soaking it in warmed-up fluid;
a simulation of a continuous cycle, with warm or cold
water; timing of closing and opening cycles at different
pressure ranges.

Tests of static and dynamic traction and bending
With the machines used for bending and traction tests
we can check the strength of the materials and of the
connections among the different components. We carry out
dynamic and static traction tests on fittings for PE pipes
and traction and bending tests on the sleeves and on the
threaded connections. |

Venting
capacity tests
Airvents are subjected to these tests.We can check
the continuous operation cycle of a valve with venting
and closing cycles and verify the quantity of vented air
by an electronic monitoring.
